Eid-El Fitri Celebration: There is no cause for alarm – Ogun VGN Commander

The Ogun state commander of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mr. Adedoyin Olanrewaju Nureni have assured citizens of Ogun State that there is no cause for alarm throughout the Eid-El Fitri period as the command have deployed not more than five personnel to each place of worship across the state.
 



Mr. Adedoyin made this known today when speaking with our reporter in Abeokuta, the state capital, where he said there is maximum security for members of the public during and after the period of the celebration.

In his words, he said “I want to assure the members of Ogun state that Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Ogun state chapter have instructed all our men to be on security alert. And we have also deployed all our men throughout the 20-local governments in the state to all worship places, particularly Mosques to make sure that they are on alert to make peace reign across the state during and after the celebration of Eid-El Fitri.

“Also we have told them to monitor every market places across the state, because during this period, people go to market to buy themselves what they need for the celebration, so we don’t want harm for them. We have deployed at least five personnel to each Mosque in the state and we have mobilized them to make sure that there is no problem.

While congratulating the Islamic members, the Commander said “I want to congratulate all Muslim brothers and sisters worldwide, you know it is not easy to fast for one day, let alone thirty-days. I want to congratulate them for the successful completion of the fasting.”

The Commander also gave his advice to the general public, saying “My advice to the members of the public, particularly those who have fasted throughout the thirty-days is to imbibe the doctrine of the religious, and become more righteous. The more righteous they are, the more peaceful co-existence they become.

“Secondly, I want to let them know that religious must not cause division in the country because if we allow division, it will damage the development we are expecting or the once we have experienced in the state, as well as in the country.

He also urged members of the public to supply the command with useful information about perpetrators of evil acts in their communities as the lives and properties of citizens is paramount to them, the VGN, saying “the more useful information they give us, the more active we become.”
