OGUN WOOS CHRISTIANS TO HOLY PILGRIMAGE

As part of measures put in place to increase Christians’ participation in Holy Pilgrimage to Israel, the Ogun State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, has kick-started its sensitization programme across the State toward achieving these aims.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Pastor Oluwole Odejobi, who made this known in an interview with journalists at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the exercise was tailored towards promoting the spiritual virtues inherent in participating in the Holy Pilgrimage.

Odejobi also said that the programme was one of the statutory responsibilities of the Board at promoting religious unity and growth in the state, saying that for the exercise to have a far reaching effect; four different teams had been formed to ensure hitch-free exercise in Remo, Ijebu, Yewa & Egba zones.

Odejobi said the exercise would encourage pilgrimage development in the state in no small measure, assuring that with the commitment of each leader, the Board would record successes and has no reason contracting out its responsibilities to any agent, adding that with the calibre of seasoned Civil Servants across different profession in the Board, the future of the state was very bright.

He enjoined Christian leaders from different denominations across the State to cooperate, support and work in tandem with the team in order to actualize the set objectives.

The zonal leaders are Mrs. Oluwakemi Omitade, Egba, Mrs. Alaba Ogunnike, Yewa, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Oduneye, Ijebu, and Mr. Tunde Akinsanya, for Remo.
