EIFDW ORGANISES EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO PORTNOVO TO CELEBRATE GOV AMOSUN AT 60

In the bid to celebrate the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun at 60 and give back to his alma mater, the Educational Initiative for Development in Western Nigeria  (EIFDW ) in  collaboration with the office of the State Head of Service has organised a 3- day educational tour for 40  pupils of African Church Grammar school and African Church Primary School,  Owu Abeokuta.


The Educational tour to Shongai farms at Port novo in the Republic of Benin was  aimed at enlightening and  exposing the pupils beyond  the shores of Nigeria and to bring back the culture of excursions in schools . 

The State Head of Service,  Mr. Abayomi Sobande who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Bureau of Service Matters,  Mrs Modupe Bosede while bidding the pupils farewell disclosed that  the selection of students was based on supporting  indigent students whose parents cannot afford such tour out of the country .  

"This tour is in line with the initiatives of EIFDWN targeted at encouraging old students to return to their alma mater and do something no matter how small. This is our contribution to the governor's alma mater" He said.
 
Sobande explained that 10 pupils were selected from the primary section while 15 were selected from both junior and senior schools noting that they were expected to return and impact their  colleagues. 

On his word of advice, he charged them to be obedient and see themselves as ambassadors of the state and be of good conducts in line with Ogun standard as well as learn from the trip  in order to return better eqquiped to become better students. 

While appreciating the State government for giving their wards the opportunity to participate in the tour, Alhaji Adegboyega Popoola on behalf of other parents prayed for an hitch free tour and wishing the governor many more years in good health.
