The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps has foiled an attempted cable theft in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
This is according to a statement by the Commander of Corps, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo which was released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
Ganzallo, said the Special Squad team of the Ijebu Zonal Command, led by the Zonal Commander, DCC Yemi Odukoya, while on routine patrol on Monday, March 2, 2026, sighted the suspects on a motorcycle moving in a suspicious manner.
The trio; Wale Mosadoluwa, 31, Adeleje Okunuga, 30 and Anifowose Michael, 33, were arrested around 2:15am on their way to Ijagun.
During preliminary interrogation, one of the suspects, Wale, confessed that he has been into cable theft since 2023.
Furthermore, he said his friend, Damilare who is currently at a correctional center, called him sometime ago to go and take some items such as cutter, used in commiting this crime from a secret location. Unfortunately for them, they were apprehended before they could carry out their nefarious act.
(Dr.) Ganzallo said some of the exhibits recovered are; one big cutter, plier, screw driver and a motorcycle.
The State Commander noted that the suspects and exhibits has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba Area Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
