Kwara police command have detained AbdulRasheed Akogun and Dare Akogun for criminal defamation and fake news.
AbdulRasheed is a blogger and politician while his brother Dare is a reporter with Sobi fm.
The two were earlier petitioned by the CPS to Governor AbdulRazaq over allegations made by the two against him that he facilitated the sum of N15m to some candidates in the recent NUJ elections to influence the outcome.
The two brothers also claimed they had evidence to back their claims, challenging him to sue them.
Following their invitation earlier this week, the police have started investigations into the matter before they will be charged to court of law.
Meanwhile, the Akogun brothers have been held in custody to help the police with their investigations.
