Stephen Awoyale emerged as chairman of Kwara state Youth CAN

Youth Wing of Kwara state Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has elected a new set of officials.

Those inaugurated are Bro Stephen Awoyale (Chairman) (ECWA/Tekan), Pst. Tosin Olayemi (V.Chairman), (OAIC), Bro Babayemi Opeyemi (Sec) (CSN), Bro Timothy ADEWUMI (Asst Sec) (CCN), Pst Aiyedogbon Elijah (Treasurer) (CPFN/PFN), Pst Ayinla Samuel (Dir. Welfare, Gender) (ECWA/Tekan), Kayode OJO (Dir. Education, Political)(OAIC), Pst Awolowo Samuel (Dir. Planning, Research) (CPFN/PFN).

The outgoing Chairman, Rev. Simeon Ojo in his speech appreciated God and the rest of his executive members who have tremendously contributed to the growth and development of YOWICAN in the state and as well made his tenure a successful and memorious one.

The newly elected Chairman, Bro Stephen Adeola Awoyale is the Current Youth Leader of Ilorin City Forum (ICF) comprises of Ilorin East, West & South, and Youth leader of Ilorin South, LG. 

In his acceptance speech, Bro. Stephen Awoyale admonish us all to join hands together to ensure the growth of this noble Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kwara State and also bear in mind that awaiting us is not an earthly rewards which is subjected to moth, rust and where thieves breaks in and steal but a treasure stored up in heaven where neither moth nor rust, nor thieves breaks in and steal.

Stephen stressed further saying, ‘’As opined in The Holy Book in Hebrews 10:24-25, we are administered to consider to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

He reiterated the need for unity in the church if it must play an active role in correcting the ills in the society, stressing that if people cannot have safety in the church then there is a very big problem.

He added that the church must remain outspoken in order to direct the path of leadership in the society, declaring that the truth must be told no matter the situation, however, that the church must be divorced from politics.

Conclusively, I wish to pledge my allegiance to serve optimally to the best of God’s ability in me to ensure the smooth running of Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kwara State and also build on the existing work of our beloved brethren that have served in different positions of the association.

Ifeoluwa Adefila, (Kwara South Rep, Nigeria Youth Parliament) Women Fellowship, First ECWA church Ilorin, Youth Fellowship, First ECWA church Ilorin, Assistant Youth Coordinator Ilorin South LG, Pastor Daniel Jesugbemi, Treasurer Ilorin South LG, Sister Ruth Shaba, LG Youth Cordinators, Head of blocs, and many others.
