OGBC marks 45th anniverssary in grand style

The nation's model station, the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday, the 9th of December, 2021 marked her 45th years of quality Broadcatsing to the Public in grand style.

The event was colourful as the entire staff members in a uniform attire danced to the glory of God for a successful journey thus far, despite the challenges of past years.


It started off with the early morning prayer session which was heralded by a joyous dance round the premises of the corporation. 

The dance led by the elated General Manager herself, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan later moved outside the premises of the station and terminated at the All Souls' Church, Ibara Abeokuta before the team danced gleefully back to the premises.. 


Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Corporation, Alhaji Yahyah Olodeoku had joined the staffers in a group photograph before appearing on a special live programme as part of the anniversary. 

Alhaji Olodeoku while reacting to questions on his assessment of the corporation since his inception as Board chairman, observed that OGBC is a proactive station, which had not derailed in the task of churning out quality Broadcating to its teeming listeners. 

He said "since I got on board, there is no gainsaying the fact that OGBC is a proactive station, taking the lead in the realm of Broadcasting in Nigeria. By the grace of God, the station shall continue to grow higher. I am happy to be part of you.

"You have not dissapointed your people from the grassroots and even the people in the diaspora are listening to OGBC. We thank God that you are keeping the lead.

On the future plans for the station, he said" At the board level, we will continue to be proactve to get means of funding for the corporation. We are being proactive".


Alhaji Olodeoku said by the time OGBC will be 50 years, he expected that the corpiration will continue to play the lead role it is known for and will continue to be better and wax stronger.

The early morning prayer session was led by the Direcror of Engineering of the Corporation, Mr. Femi Adeyanju, who prayed in the Christian way, while Mr. Monsuru Lamidi prayed in the Muslim way.


Also present at the event are the PS Ministry of Rural Development, Alhaji Tunji Kanimodo as well as management staff of the corporation.
