LG Poll: Abeokuta South Aspirants Endorsed, Declare Support For Hon Ayo Shomide




ABEOKUTA —  As the money bag politics in Abeokuta South local government, six out of the aspitants has backed out of the race to declare their support for Hon Ayodeji Shomide to return to the chairmanship seat of the council.

The six aspirants are Hon Adedayo Okanlanwan Akintoye, Hon Muisi Oladehinde Omitogun, Hon Olujimi Adekunle,Hon Damilare Olumide Tosin, Hon Toyosi Abdulquasin Enilolobo, Hon Mustapha Kodaolu Olajide respectively.

Meanwhile, AmeboNewsHub correspondent reported how money politics has made aspirants declare vote of no confidence on some of the chairmanship screening committee of All Progressive Congress APC after playing sentimental games within the aspirants because of bribe at the back door of the screening.


Another dimension was taken on Monday 17th of May 2021, after seven chairmanship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress APC of Abeokuta South local govt issued a joint communique to declared their support for the transition chairman of the council, Hon Ayodeji Michael Shomide to return to the seat.

According to the communique signed by the seven aspirants including Hon Shomide, "We the seven chairmanship aspirant unanimously agreed and endorsed Hon Ayodeji Michael Shomide as our party  consensus candidate (APC) for the office of the chairman, Abeokuta South local govt. for forth coming local govt election."

"Our purpose of endorsement is 
because we lost confidence in the process the leaders in the local government adopted in their  selection, We hereby disassociate ourselves from the purported nomination of groups within the party in our local govt."

The communique was signed by:
