Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, has warned against setting the captured notorious Fulani herdsman, Isikilu Wakili free.
Fani-Kayode warned that setting Wakili free would jeopardize the peace process being put in place in the area.
Recall that men of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, had captured Wakili on Sunday in Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
The alleged notorious herdsman was handed over to the police for investigation.
Fani-Kayode pointed out that people of the area would lose faith in the authorities should Wakili be set free.
In a series of tweet, the former Aviation Minister called for the immediate release of OPC members arrested for capturing Wakili.
He wrote: “I call for the immediate release of the OPC heroes who arrested the monster called Wakili and who handed him over to the authorities in one piece.
”Under no circumstance should Wakili be set free. If that were to happen for any reason, it would threaten and jeopardize the peace process that has been put in place very badly, and it would cause many to lose faith and hope in what we are trying to achieve.”
