Odole Oodua : Ooni Adeyeye Has Made 'An Excellent Choice' - Reps Deputy MinorityWhip

..... rejoices with Sir Kesington Adebutu

The Deputy Minority Whip of House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid , has declared that His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has made an excellent choice with the conferment of the title  ‘‘Odole Oodua’’ on Sir Kesington Adebutu.

The lawmaker, who described Sir Adebutu as the type of Odole Oodua the people of Yorubaland have been yearning for, saluted Oba Ogunwusi for making a great choice.

In a statement issued by his Personal Assistant on Media and Political Affairs, Tayo N.O.K-Rufai , Adekoya rejoiced with the business mogul for the title, which was held in the past by the great Oranmiyan , late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and subsequently by Chief G.O.K Ajayi.

Adekoya noted that the choice of Sir Adebutu as the Odole Oodua was in recognition of his philanthropy, positive contributions to human development and promotion of reputable cultural values and traditions of Yorubaland.

"The title is a revered chieftaincy title in Yorubaland ; it is a special office, which works closely with the Ooni of Ife in rallying the descendants of Oduduwa wherever they are in the world for unity, peace and progress of the race.

"To attest to how significant the title is, it was once occupied by the great Oranmiyan while he was still a Prince of Ife followed by late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and subsequently by Chief G.O.K Ajayi. Having been vacant for some years now, it is time to fill the position as Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has found a worthy son of Yorubaland to occupy the post in the person of Sir Kesington Adebutu.

“I am sure the choice of Sir Adebutu is well deserved and I pray to God to give him long life with sound health to continue to contribute to the Ooni’s quest to bring growth and development to Yorubaland,” he added.
