Ebitimi Vows To Build Revolutionary Park In Bayelsa .
One of the gubernatorial aspirants of All Progressive Congress ( APC) , in November governorship election in Bayelsa State , honourable Ebitimi Amgbare promised to build revolutionary Park in memory of Bayelsans heroes who fought against injustice .
Honourable Ebitimi Amgbare said this in an interview on Creek FM 106.5 in Bayelsa yesterday .
In his words , " The people have right to protest in democracy and as a matter of fact , I am going to build a twelve days revolutionary park in Bayelsa State ."
" You know what twelve days revolutionary stands for ?. That was the first revolution against injustice in Niger Delta region led by Major Isaac Adak a Boro in 1966 . So , if you have any protest against the government , take it there as long as is going to be peaceful and legitimate . We will address it and that is not to say we are not going to take steps to make sure there is no protest . " he said .
On budget , the two time governorship candidate reiterated his determination to decentralise the system by allocating 100million naira for Yenagoa while 70million naira will be apportioned to headquarters of each of the Local Government in the State .
" I will see a deliberate efforts to decentralise . Here in Yenagoa , a minimum of 100 million naira will be spent on this capital city . A minimum of 70million naira will be spent on headquarters of Local Government monthly .
" There is no way you spend 100million naira here on Yenagoa every month by the end of year is 1.2billion naira . There is no way you will come here and you will not see meaningful changes . Here in Yenagoa we are looking at the street lights . Every street in Yenagoa must be lighted ." he said .
On transportation system , honourable Ebitimi Amgbare promised to provide safe , comfortable transportation for the people .
" By the grace of God I was invited by Governor Dickson to serve as GM of Bayelsa company . I tried to come up with some initiatives that did not see the light of the day . Anyway , it is on my credit that the project is going on at Bayelsa transport company now because I believe that people must have a safe comfortable transportation and not just one mode of transportation ."
On the stand of APC in Bayelsa State , honourable Ebitimi Amgbare said the party has solid structure and there is no room to exercise any fear at all .
According to him " I champion the course of the progressive very early in this State . Let me tell you , we have the Action Congress of Nigeria structure , CPC and ANPP, the traditional followers of president Mohammodu Buhari . It is unfortunate that they have not been given their space in the present APC . And that is what my aspirations bring to this contest . I come with three political parties . " he said .
The governorship aspirant gave reason why his former late boss , DSP Alamieyeseigha was tormented by the then former president Olusegun Obasanjo .
" As a matter of fact , between 2005 and 2007 , president Olusegun Obasanjo did not want certain persons to continue in PDP and he was one of those people . So they ganged up and formed Action Congress . He was part of those who fought tenure elongation so it was a deliberate move then ." .
It would be recalled that DSP Alamieyeseigha who was fondly called Governor-General of the Niger Delta during his tenure as the governor of Bayelsa State , died at 62, in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital , River State and he remained a point of reference in the political history of Bayelsa State till date .
