Cocacola Drivers Dock in Ogun .

Two drivers with Cocacola Bottling Company with the Abeokta depot have been arraigned before an Odeda Magistrate court.

The accused, Philip Abah and Monday Agbo were were arraigned on a two count charge of dangerous driving and attempted murder.

The duo were arrested by men of the Ogun State Vehicle Inspection (VIO) at Obantoko area of Abeokuta, the Ogun  State capital for dangerous driving and other related offences .

They were arrested with one Cocacola truck with registration number LSD 410 XN along Obantoko when they  were asked to stop by officers of VIO operational headquarters for proper inspection of the truck papers .

It was learnt that the driver who saw the officers from distance deliberately chased them away from the road with his truck to avoid any inspection .

The VIO officers we learnt ran away for safety.

A reliable source, who witnessed the scene said while the driver was on motion , crates of Cocacola began to fall from the truck and this forced him to stop .

VIO officers who made attempt  to arrest the drivers where they stopped were chased away with broken bottles to a nearest filling station .

It took the intervention of the DPO Obantoko, SP Olasunkanmi Popoola who was on patrol along with his  men before the drivers could be arrested.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Babajide Iwa ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody .
