EWEKORO —UNEASY calm still pervades Itori-Ewekoro , a coastal community in the industrial minerals such as clay, limestone, glass-sand among others council area of Ogun State over the Olu of Olapeleke Obaship tussle.

(Lapotere 1) and Adebari Odekunle Thomas, may take laws into their hands if the contentious obaship stool remains unresolved by the state government.
Reports had it that while Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) Baale of Olapeleke is popular amongst the people of the community, after assuming the throne of his fore fathers in 2009, he applied for Olu Of Olapeleke through prescribed authority from Ogun State Commissioner of Chieftaincy Affairs after getting a recommendation letter from Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu Amororo II (Olowu of Owu Kingdom) and the letter was replied by the chieftaincy ministry copying Oba Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) to indicate work in progress.

Surprisingly, Adebari Odekunle Thomas, a former Otun Aare of baale under Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) Baale of Olapeleke was said to have been crowned by Olowu of Owu Kingdom in his palace to be in charge of Olapeleke community last week over the Baale of the whole community.
Meanwhile, there was a resolution from Ogun State House of Assembly on suspension of all the 75 Oba coronet by Governor Ibikunle Amosun shortly before ending of his successful tenure.
Adebari Odekunle Thomas was on Sunday accused by the other faction of embarking on a self coronation exercise, thereby violating the peace agreement reached with Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) Baale of Olapeleke and the state government.
The community had been in crisis for three years now between Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) Baale of Olapeleke and Oba Abdul-Fatai Akorede Akamo, Olu Of Itori over his emergence and refusal to be encroached.

However, the narrative changed for the first time, as a division was introduced when Oba Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) emerged as Baale of Olapeleke community and crowned by the Olowu of Owu Kingdom in 2009.
This separation of power had been the crux of the matter leading to palpable tension and had snowballed into a chaos which may lead to bloodbath if not well managed by government.
Invasion of hoodlums into the community
However, while the crisis remained unsolved, a twist was introduced last week as one of the gladiators, Adebari Odekunle Thomas was said to have cause breach of peace by inviting hoodlums into the community to lead him with his crown, which almost cause chaos but the police douse the tension by stopping him from parading himself as the Olu of Olapeleke community.
Adebari Odekunle Thomas was said to have been lead by Baale of Alatika, Baale of Adeagba, Oluwo of Itori, Baale of Oke-Sekoni, Aremo son of Baba Omo alongside rented hoodlums who wounded people in the community before the arrival of the police.
When our correspondent contacted Adebari Odekunle Thomas for his reaction he said Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu Amororo II (Olowu of Owu Kingdom) thought it expedient to crown him after receiving a recommendation letter from the former commissioner of Local government and Chieftain affairs based on his positive impact to Olapeleke town that the whole allegation levied againt him by Oba Gabriel Taiwo Olusesan Akinremi (Lapotere 1) was all fallacies.
