Factions to unite in Ogun PDP to win 2023 elections – Oyo PDP Youth leader

...as leaders pass vote of confidence on Ladi Adebutus leadership

Oyo state youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asiwaju  Adekola Adeoye, has admonished the leadership of the party in Ogun state to eschew bitterness and factional issues that can jeorpadise the chances of the party in winning the 2023 elections in the state.

Asiwaju Adeoye made the admonition last week Thursday while delivering his keynote address during a sensitisation programme organised by “Ogun PDP Rebirth” at Iwe Iroyin House, NUJ secretariat, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

He enjoined the leadership of the PDP in the state to be united, citing that it was unity of opposition parties coupled with bad leadership style of Senator Abiola Ajimobi that paved way for the emergence of Engineer  (Sir) Seyi Makinde as the Oyo state governor-elect. He added that Oyo state electorate expressed their outright rejection of the All Progressives Congress  (APC) on March 9 governorship election in Oyo state.

He noted that youths are the bedrock on which the success of Ogun state PDP can be achievable in 2023. He said that the journey of 2023 has begun even before the May 29 Inauguration Programme across the country.

Com Dr NIYI Osoba commended the efforts of the Convener. He stressed the necessity of unity of the party to enable 2023 journey easy for our party.

Coming together and doing the right things will bring us success in the state , qouted by him.

Earlier in her remarks, the convener of the event, a veteran journalist and broadcaster, Mrs Omolara Popoola, stated that the aim of the event and the sole responsibility of the group centred on how to bring back the PDP in Ogun state in 2023.

In his own goodwill message, a leader of the party in the state, Alhaji Semiu Sobayo, noted that the lack of unity among the party’s leaders paved way for APC in the 2019 election. He, however, lauded the dexterous contributions of Chief Ladi Adebutu in Ogun state PDP.

He stated that the party would continue to lose if Chief Buruji Kashamu was still recognised by the party's National Executive Council in Abuja.
