The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ekiti State has suspended Engr. Segun Oni, a former national deputy chairman of the party indefinitely.
Oni, who is from the Ifaki-Ekiti ward two, Ido/Osi local government of the state, was alleged to be involved in anti-party activities.
In a statement signed by the chairman, Shina Akinloyè and the secretary of the ward, Taiwo Ogunyemi, stated that Oni's suspension was as a result of his refusal to honour an invitation sent to him by the "fact-finding committee" of the ward over allegations of anti-party activities levelled against him.
However, the leadership of the party in the ward had on April 24, summoned former governor.
Oni, had headed to a federal high court in Abuja to challenge Fayemi's candidature, where he had claimed he was ineligible to run as APC candidate because he did not resign his ministerial appointment, as the law demands before clinching the party's ticket.
Meanwhile, Fayemi was the minister of mines and steel development.
Also, Oni had claimed that the White Paper by a judicial commission of inquiry raised by former governor, Ayodele Fayose, indicted Fayemi and barred him from holding public office for 10 years, but the supreme court struck out Oni's suit last month.
