Gboyega Isiaka will preside over an egalitarian Ogun State…..YDF

Foremost Ogun West sociocultural group, Yewaland Developmental Forum (YDF), formerly known as the Yewa Union, yesterday assured the people of ogun state that African Democratic Congress gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka will preside over an egalitarian ogun state if elected governor next year.

The forum also warned that it will not tolerate or support any last minute attempt to bring in another Yewa candidate to scuttle the agenda.

The assurance was contained in a press statement released in Lagos on Wednesday afternoon and signed by the forum National President, Alhaji Ayo Adeyemi and National Secretary, Fatogun Oladimeji. Also present to give support were members of the board of trustees including Professor Rahmon Bello, Professor Anthony Asiwaju and Chief (Mrs) Ebun Oyagbola among others.

The forum endorsed Isiaka, fondly called GNI as a unified candidate of Yewa-Aworiland; promising that the two time guber candidate will ensure a liberal and developed state.

The forum statement reads in parts, “The current situation of our state calls for steadfastness and unity of purpose in an unprecedented manner. While we salute the current governor, Ibikunle Amosun for his desire to ensure an ogun west successor, we are not unaware of certain political shenanigans that may scuttle the dream”.

“YDF congratulates the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for electing to field our son, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) as its gubernatorial candidate; someone whom we believe is eminently qualified to lead the state and already enjoys the confidence of Ogun west people; as expressed by the endorsements of both Yewa and Awori traditional Councils”.

The forum stated plainly that the support for GNI is “total, indivisible and unassailable”.

The statement further reads, “We unequivocally state that any new entrant into the governorship race from ogun west via party defection or other substituted means will not enjoy our support as this is counterproductive to the ogun west for governor agenda and our people who are partymen”.

YDF however appealed to the electorate in ogun central and east to reciprocate the cooperative attitude of ogun west over the years.

“We assure every ogun state indigene that our quest is not just for a governor of Yewa extraction, but a governor of ogun state whose leadership will entrench equity, justice, fairness and development for all”.
