Soil Scientists Set to Honour FUNAAB VC

The Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN), is poised to honour the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Kolawole Salako with its prestigious award of Fellow of SSSN at the Opening Ceremony of the 42nd Annual Conference of the Society themed, “Sustainable Management of Soil and Water Resources for Food Security, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation”, at the Institute for Agricultural research and Training (IAR&T), Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 by 10am.

The Executive Committee of the Society after due consultations confirmed Professor Salako’s suitability for the Fellowship award in recognition of his support to the development of the Society as well as  his tireless effort in the promotion of sustainable management of land and soils for enhanced food security, and climate change resilience.
Keynote speakers at the Conference include the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, (CON); the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu; the Minister of State, Ministry of Environment, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril and the former President, International Union of Soil Sciences, Professor Rainer Horn.
The Soil Science Society of Nigeria is a registered member of the International Union of Soil Science and its mission is to advance the study of soil, promoting and fostering understanding of basic and applied Soil Science, nationally and internationally.
