AUCHI POLYTECHNIC UNDER DR. S.M JIMAH: AN ACREDITED CENTRE FOR MONUMENTAL FRAUD
Auchi Polytechnic, which used to be the best Polytechnic among the country of Polytechnics in sub- Saharan Africa is now an accredited “Centre for Monumental Fraud” and other forms of corrupt practices under a corruption personified Acting Rector, Sanusi Momodu Jimah.
It is now an accredited corruption institution, with the Acting Rector, S.M. Jimah as the pioneer Dean of School of corruption and victimization studies, with well over eight(8) Departments in Auchi Polytechnic.
Corruption runs in Jimah’s Deoxyribo-Nucleic Acid (DNA), Hence, his huge appetite and dexterity in perpetrating it with ease. Some of the latest findings/ discoveries, arising from indepth research and investigations are as follows.
A CALCULATED PLOT TO ANNIHILATE THE AUCHI POLYTECHNIC ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (APAA)
The Acting Rector, after several attempts to prevail on the Alumni Association to market him to the Ministry of Education met with brickwalls, decided to extinct the association by ensuring that their source of revenue is blocked. This he actually did.
According to Jimah, the Alumni Association passed a vote of absolute confidence on the former Rector via a letter to the Ministry of Education during the Rectorship tussle in 2007, being an Alumnae, but now refusing and rejecting him when he is also an alumnus. Jimah seem to be oblivious of the fact that he is not marketable anywhere and not a Rector material, as he is corruption personified. His open display and exhibition of Vindictiveness, laced with the symptoms of a dying snake, propelled Jimah into issuing a circular stopping graduands who automatically become members of Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association, upon the payment of the sum #2,500.00 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira) as both registration and dues . This practice is not peculiar to Auchi Polytechnic or alien to any tertiary institution in Nigeria.
It beats my imagination to hear that Jimah who is an Alumnus of Auchi Polytechnic is still threatening fire and brimstone to destroy the association for their refusal to allow him ride on their back to become the substantive Rector. What a desperado! The alumni association has been major player in the vanguard and agitation for the removal of the dichotomy between HND and B.Sc Certificate holders.
Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA) played host to its umbrella body, Forum of Nigeria Polytechnics Alumni Association (FONPAA) at the National Secretariat in Auchi Polytechnic, on the 24th of May 2016, to discuss issues of National importance and the commissioning of a guest house built by the Association.
The official commissioning was performed by the then Acting Rector, Engr. Jafaru Buraimoh (a non Alumnus). He eulogized the Association and described the project (Guest House) as “World class”.
The Association is building a standard drawing studio, which is about 92% completion, specifically for the school of Environmental Studies, which is the primary constituency of the Acting Rector. Assisting members in gaining employments, both at home and in Diaspora has always been the Association’s oversight functions as the strength and potency of the Association like every other, lies in its membership strength. Hence, the need to always ensure that students on graduation are automatically admitted members upon the payment of the dues.
Jimah’s antecedents in this regard is a reminiscent of what the bible says that “the Devil came to steal, to kill and to destroy” as he is an unrepentant corrupt king of the Animal Farm (Auchi Poly).
STEALING OF AN INVERTER CONSTRUCTED BY ELECT-ELECT DEPARTMENT STUDENTS AS PROJECT, DURING THE 2016/2017 SESSION
The corrupt General S.M. Jimah and one of his corrupt Lieutenants and head, department of electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mr. Isah Abbdulazeez, and stole the electricity inverter constructed by the students as their project for the 2016/2017 academics session. The inverter is presently being used by Jimah in his personal house as at the time of this report.
A complete replica of the Mikano generator, barbed wires, Air-conditioners, Aluminium roofing sheets, overhead tanks from the hostel and the rector’s lodge, diesel, students identity cards funds of over #52 million, Post-UTME funds and others too numerous to mentioned. Jimah is always looking for what to grab from and out of Auchi Polytechnic.
CHANGE OF OFFICE FURNITURE
Jimah upon assumption of office through the back door on the 20th February, 2017, immediately awarded a contract to change the furniture in the Rector’s office, even though they had barely spent up to a year.
Without recourse to due process in the disposal and acquisition of public property, he awarded the contract for the sum of #7.3 million; according to a source from within his lieutenants, the money was eventually paid into his personal account while the replaced furniture whose scrap value was over #5.1 million were taken to his private home. What a monumental fraud?.
USING FRIENDS AND RELATIONS TO SIPHONE PUBLIC FUNDS
An albino and Barrister friend of Jimah, Barr. Iyemiake is being used by him to milk the Polytechnic dry in Tens of millions of Naira. This public fund is presently idle in his account with a new generation bank.
The Barrister who described Jimah as Super-stingy man is contemplating a relocation to Canada with the money, which according to him, will afford him any branch of life anywhere in the world.
There are so many other Barr. Iyemiakes in and around Auchi Polytechnic, helping him in this looting of public funds.
PRESS CONFERENCE IN ABUJA BY AUCHI POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS
Students of Auchi Polytechnic, numbering over thirty (30) alongside Comrade Samson Okoduwa, Former President, Students Union Government (SUG) of the Institution and his Secretary General, Comrade Obukohvwho Favour, granted a press conference in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday 19th January, 2018 where they highlighted issues bordering on the high level of corruption and other unholy practices by Dr. S.M. Jimah.
According to the aggrieved students, Jimah embezzled the sum #52 million Students Identity Card funds paid by the students as no student of the institution was issued an identity card during the 2016/2017 session.
Highhandedness, boisterousness, Ineptitude, cluelessness and glutonous appetite for corruption and vindictiveness are the major characteristics of Dr. Sanusi S.M. Jimah (Tyrant).
The press conference was well covered and broadcast by AIT, TVC, Radio Nigeria, Vanguard Newspaper, The Nation newspaper and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), where the fierce looking Students called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to as a matter of urgency, bring Jimah to book and appoint a human being as a Rector for the institution from the report of the 2016 Rectorship interview, to fill the vacant post.
In the light of the above, it is very imperative to note that, Jimah has long ago declared war on Staff, Students and the Alumni Association of Auchi Polytechnic due to his desperation to become Rector, either through hook or crook.
The attention of the security agencies, the anti- graft agencies, the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders in the education sector, is hereby drawn to the institutionalization of corruption, impunities, ineptitude and rape of justice and due process.
Urgency has finally come to stay with us as our bowel of patience has been blown beyond proportion.
These goats have been pushed to the wall and must bite now.
