Edo Cult Clash: Police declare Obode Marvelous, two others wanted

The Edo state police command has said that they have made several arrests over the weekend in Ekpoma Edo state, over the clash between two cult groups in Esan West local government area of ​​Edo state, the cult groups claims one of the student of Ambrose Alli University in Edo state.

Renewed cult clashes have claimed one lives over the last weeks in the state own institution Edo state.

For reasons that are unclear some rival cult groups went about hunting down perceived enemies and shattering what looked like a respite in cult war in Ujemen Area of ​​Ekpoma.

A 400 level Engineering student of the state-owned Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma, Thomas Ehijie believed to be the leader of one of the cult groups in the institution was allegedly gunned down in a popular hotel within the University town of Ekpoma, on the 16th December 2016.

He was said to have been tricked into dislodging his aides who served as defense to him and lured to the hotel where he was shot to death at close range according to the police report.

This incident lead to the other group of cult rival hurting the close fellow enemies on the 31st December 2016,according to the tip gotten by the police that the earlier killing of a 200 hundred level student Mr Osaro omon, age 26 the police have been investigated this issue which some suspects were arrested.

Also, a musician know as (DJ) simply identified as Marvelous Obode, popular know as (DJ) Oma, was reportedly declared wanted by the Ekpoma Division of the Nigeria police, command.

According to the police (DJ) Oma, been one of the master of rival cult groups in Ekpoma, according to the police they got an information from residents in the area, as 16.30 in the evening of 31st December 2016, that a cult group was celebrating their end of the year part in the ujemen, Axis of the University town Ekpoma, the police quickly mobilized her men into the resident on getting there, the environment has been hit up by the two rival cults who was fighting for supremacy and killing of one of there member in the area, the police made arrest of some of the sunspected cultists but alot of them manage to escaped arrests, the police arrest a total of 17th suspect in the event, those who was earlier arrested are, Emmanuel Oboh, sanusi Amani, Marcus Saddoh, John Eboh, Aburekehen Ebikede, Ese Imudia, Odigie Ejemen, Odalomeiye Purity.

Others are Ewoghe Oyafoh, Moses ORiRi, Osezoya Martins, Esele Ateso, Noredia Udo, Osolease Izogie, Esebor Abe, Lucky Adu, and Akhigbe Akuegbe.
 
Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Edward Aihevba, were unsuccessful as he neither picked up his calls nor responded to a text messages sent to his mobile number.

But it was gathered that students of the institution had been living in fear since the incident occurred.

Some of them living outside the campus were said to have fled their hostels for the fear of a reprisal as they prepared to write their examinations.

A student, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated, “I heard about it (incident). People are afraid to leave the campus, especially as we prepare for our exams which will begin very soon.

Earlier report said that some students have been running from the school area to avoid been killed by the ongoing cult war.

On the 4th of January the police made again an arrest of a total number of 3 individuals, who escaped an arrest in the premise where the clash was set to carry out, they include James Ordia, Isi Osemudiamhen, and Hope Ehizogie. some managed to escape.

Speaking with news men in Esan North East local government area of ​​Uromi, Edo state the police spoke man issa Alli, said that they mobilized to the marvelous residents of Mr Obode, but managed to escape from arrest.

The police command further states that the above persons and names which the police has declared wanted argue well meaning Nigerias to report this individuals to the nearest police station or any other sister security agency in the country for arrest and persecution.
